Lozen was a warrior, spiritual guide, healer, and a symbol of strength to her people during times of great turmoil. Born in the 1840s in what is now New Mexico, his brother was Apache Chief Victorio. From a young age, Lozen chose the path of a warrior, which she traveled with unprecedented grace and ferocity, becoming an icon of female empowerment in Indigenous culture.

Lozen possessed a unique gift, a spiritual and tactical ability that allowed him to determine the direction of enemy forces. This skill was invaluable during the Apache wars against the federal government, giving his people a strategic advantage against their adversaries.

According to legend, Lozen extended his arms with his palms facing the sky. Then, she followed the Sun, while praying to Ussen, the Apache Creator of Life. It was claimed that when she felt a tingling sensation in her hands and her palms darkened, Lozen knew where her enemies were coming from.
